Jay West
Founder
Jay West built and operated award-winning station KZEL-FM in Eugene, Oregon and is the Founder of XPATRADIO in Mexico. After living and working in Los Cabos for more than 20 years, he brought together long-time friends and radio colleagues, Jan Yearwood-Schumacher and Chris Mays, and together they conceived and developed the concept for a unique on-line radio network serving English speaking people living and vacationing in Mexico. With the commitment and support of long-time Cabo resident, Byron Hill, XPATRADIO is now a reality.
Byron Hill
Chairman
BYRON LOVES MEXICO. The affair was consummated in 1967 on his first visit to the Baja. Byron has had a number of successful enterprises in Mexico including Brisa del Mar trailer park in San Jose del Cabo, el Zalate condominiums and several restaurants with associate Tadd Chapman including Don Sanchez and Retro Burger Bar. His favorite has been the farm, Sanchez Organico. Byron has acted several roles in Baja Shakespeare in Los Barriles and produced a number of plays in San Jose del Cabo. Byron is delighted to be involved in XPATRADIO as it blends the best of two cultures.
Jan Yearwood-Schumacher
Chief Executive Officer

A native of Oregon, this marketing, media and successful entrepreneur, whose gift is to see a great idea and turn it into an amazing reality, knew immediately that Xpatradio was a project that she could sink her teeth into.

In college she worked at KZEL Radio Station in Eugene, and met owner Jay West, the founder of the Xpatradio concept. Her previous experience also includes owner of PRN Radio Network and co-owner of the advertising agency Mainstream Media.

Her energetic and 'can do' attitude, coupled with her longtime love affair with Mexico, are guaranteed to make Xpatradio.mx an online radio global success. Her objective:

"To become the voice of Mexico for English-speaking citizens. To spread the word about the culture, food, people and livability of Mexico to the world and to share information about places to go and things to do."
- Jan Yearwood-Schumacher

Tami Bennett
Radio
Tami had planned on being a fine arts teacher when she called her local radio station to request a song. They liked her voice and talked her into stopping by to meet the staff. Days later, she was hosting the midday show. She spent six years in her hometown of Erie, PA before moving to Seattle with her first husband and settling into a decades-long career in rock radio in the Pacific Northwest. Said husband also took her on her first trip South (to Cozumel), when and where she fell in soul love with Mexico and its peoples. Being in sunny, warm, and friendly Cabo, playing great music and soaking up the local culture was on the top of her Bucket List. Now, the rest of it doesn't matter!

Robbie Llewellyn-David
Sales and Marketing Executive
A student of drama and English literature, Robbie garnered a degree and took to the West End stage in London, U.K. Several musicals later, the draw of another passion – fine dining and event management – took his career to another equally dramatic field. He has managed and created events for British royalty, heads of state, politicians and celebrities. With his flair for promotion and marketing skills, this raconteur, bon viveur and promotional guru will take Xpatradio to the top – globally.
Nicole Marie Jarvies (Nickie)
Sales and Marketing Executive
Originally from Washington State, Nickie has been a resident of the Baja for the past twenty years. It is here she chose to settle and raise a family. She has a wealth of experience as manager and marketing executive for prime real estate from Todos Santos to San Jos del Cabo. Friendly, honest and motivating, she was a natural for the sales and training manager of Flora Farms real estate branch. Xpatradio is a logical extension for her experience and love for life in her chosen home of Cabo San Lucas.

Ida Victoria Gustavson
Art Correspondent, Galeria de Ida Victoria

After graduating with a degree in Illustration from Parsons School of Design, Ida worked as an independent artist and illustrator in New York City. During this period she had a variety of her work published, painted commissions for private clients and worked as a graphic designer. However never straying far from the Fine Arts she also participated in various solo and group shows. Ida moved to Los Cabos in late 2003 to open Galeria de Ida Victoria which has been touted by the local press as “the finest gallery south of Los Angeles.” She represents over 25 artists from the US, Canada and Mexico.

Ida is known for her highly detailed paintings with subjects ranging from architecture to portraiture, finding inspiration in the light and shadows of her subject and in her chosen medium watercolor. She has an 8 year old and a 6 year old, her best creations to date, and plans to resume painting originals as soon as they leave for college (just kidding)! Until then she has high quality limited edition Giclée prints available of her most favorite works.

You can find Ida at the Ida Victoria Gallery in San José del Cabo. www.idavictoriagallery.com
