Opened in October of 2004 by celebrity Chef F. Tadd Chapman, and named after the famed Habañero Chile, Habañero’s Gastro Grill and Tequila bar has developed into one of San Jose del Cabo’s most recognized restaurants among locals and tourists alike. Nestled behind a wall of Eureka palms between San Jose’s hotel zone and historic downtown, Habañero’s menu blends European style bistro with eclectic “Mexican Fusion”; all the while keeping things “Baja Casual”. The style of cuisine is a playful blend of local products and ideas, fused with the highest quality imported products and international cooking techniques. In the fall of 2006 Tadd was joined by his mother, Christine Chapman to create a family operated restaurant with over 50 years of joint restaurant experience. After four years of satisfying clients, the opportunity arose to expand into adjacent space, and thus was born Habañero’s Gastro Grill and Tequila Bar.
Habañero’s Gastro Grill and Tequila Bar is open daily for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner, with terrace or indoor seating. Enjoy traditional favorites with a twist, like Habañero’s Mexican combo,or Tequila spiked French Onion. Signature dishes like Sushizza Trio (spicy tuna, spicy shrimp or barbequed pulled pork) served over Panko crusted sushi rice with wasabi mayo, mango & tamarind; with a side of mint slaw are simply unforgettable.
